Specialist Moving Service

Piano Movers Singapore

Moving a piano is not like moving a sofa. It takes trained hands, the right equipment, and years of moving experience. Our team handles every piano — digital, upright, baby grand, and grand — with the care it deserves.

A piano is one of the heaviest and most delicate items in any home. An upright piano can weigh up to 250kg. A grand piano can exceed 500kg. Beyond the weight, the internal mechanics — the soundboard, hammers, and strings — are sensitive to impact. One wrong move can mean costly repairs or a permanently detuned instrument. Singapore’s compact HDB corridors, narrow stairwells, and condo lift restrictions make piano moving even more challenging.

Rodex Movers has been moving pianos across Singapore since 2006. We use professional piano dollies (heavy-duty wheeled platforms built for the weight and shape of a piano), heavy-duty straps, and protective padding on every job. We also do site surveys to assess access challenges before moving day so there are no surprises.

Digital Piano (From $100)

Digital pianos typically weigh between 15 to 30kg. While they don’t carry the same mechanical complexity as acoustic pianos, keys, pedals, and electronic components still need careful handling. Our team wraps and secures the unit before transport to ensure nothing shifts in transit.

Upright Piano (From $150)

Upright pianos are the most common type in Singapore homes and music schools, typically weighing between 100 to 250kg. Moving one requires a minimum two-man team with a piano dolly and protective padding. Staircases, narrow corridors, and lift size are the key variables that affect the final price.

Baby Grand Piano (From $350)

Baby grand pianos typically weigh between 150 to 400kg and measure 1.5 to 1.7m in length. Moving one involves disassembling the legs and pedal lyre, wrapping the lid and body, and using a piano board for safe transport. Our team reassembles everything at the destination so it is ready to use.

Grand Piano (From $880)

Grand pianos are the most complex to move, often weighing 300 to 600kg or more. Every move starts with full disassembly: legs, lyre, and lid all come off and are wrapped separately. A skid board is used to tilt and move the body safely.
